Health Coaching Awareness Week

We have four Health and Wellbeing Coaches supporting our South Southwark residents (increasing to five).  Health coaching empowers people and supports them to set goals and find solutions; enabling them to make more informed and conscious choices about their health and wellbeing.

As it's Health Coaching awareness week, we wanted to highlight the great work the team have been doing.

Our four coaches come from varied backgrounds with a range of different skills and experiences, which is a huge asset for us.  Please see more information about our team.

The team have supported nearly 600 patients to date, and can support with a range of different issues, from mental health, long-term conditions to sleep.  You can find case studies on our website, but here is a brief example:

Lynda had increasing stress levels, anxiety and emotional eating challenges. I supported her for six sessions focusing on creating a positive mind-set, healthy relationship with food and anxiety management. Lynda’s wellbeing scores improved and she felt much less anxious.

"I finally face myself for the first time in 27 years, it was frightening yet it was a safe space to explore. I liked the sessions, and I loved how Lucia actively listened and asked open questions, it gave me an open space to go deeper and deeper. I am very grateful for this opportunity, eye opening and life changing."

Our Health Coaches have attended  various outreach events, delivering talks and engaging with different communities about health and well- being e.g. facilitating ‘mood and food’ and ‘emotional resilience’ sessions for children and parents at Spring Community Hub holiday clubs. Coaches want to work with professionals, set up groups for residents to support self-management, achieving goals and sharing with others, reducing social isolation.

Please support the week by sharing your health coaching experiences and celebrating the transformational power of #HealthCoaching.
